All international essential workers entering Canada must also follow the rules set out by the Government of Canada under the Quarantine Act. These workers would also be required to follow provincial Special Measures Orders, which may be more stringent.

Self-isolation recommendations for essential workers have been updated to reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19. Given the increased COVID-19 activity in other provinces and the expected continued increase in COVID-19 variants of concern, the risk of COVID-19 entering Newfoundland and Labrador remains high.
