Municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador are facing the challenges of maintaining critical infrastructure from roadways, bridges, and drinking water supply and sewage treatment to flood protection and environmental remediation. The task is enormous and creates barriers to effectively managing and planning for municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador. Budget constraints, as well as the demand for optimum levels of service, make it necessary for infrastructure managers and municipalities to look to available tools and techniques for efficient and effective management of infrastructure risk.
