Al Hawkins, Minister of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour

Al Hawkins was appointed to the Department of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour on July 31, 2017. Mr. Hawkins was elected to the House of Assembly as Member for Grand Falls-Windsor-Buchans on November 20, 2015. Prior to becoming an MHA, Mr. Hawkins had a successful career in education and business as well as municipal politics having served in the capacity as councilor and as Mayor of Grand Falls-Windsor for six years. During that time he also served on the boards of both Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

Remzi Cej

Remzi Cej is Director of the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism in the Department of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour. Mr. Cej has experience in facilitating newcomer settlement and integration in Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada. Mr. Cej has previously worked in diverse areas of public policy, including workforce development, environmental, and human rights, and is a recipient of numerous national and international public policy, community engagement, and academic awards.
