Municipal Legislation

The Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment will discuss new changes to the Municipalities Act.

Mary started in this position in August 2017.

Mary is originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick; and has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Prince Edward Island; and a Law Degree from the University of New Brunswick.

Mary was in private legal practice for nearly three years. Subsequently, Mary moved to the public sector with the Government of New Brunswick; specifically, with the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission as a mediator.

In 2013, Mary transferred to the Department of Environment and Local Government as a policy analyst and project manager. In this role, Mary worked almost exclusively on modernizing New Brunswick’s Municipalities Act and Community Planning Act, in addition to legal/ legislative matters related to local governance and planning. This work culminated in two new Acts, which received Royal Assent in May.
